tickled pink!

I cannot even begin to tell you how tickled I am to be included in the current One Kings Lane Design-Blogger Tastemaker Sale!  It is so much fun and incredibly flattering to watch the items I picked get snatched up! I thought a few pops of pink would be an appropriate way to celebrate the current blush all the excitment has placed my cheeks!

One Kings Lane Design-Blogger Tastemaker Sale!

Today is a very exciting day!! Along with eight other incredibly talented design bloggers I am participating in a Design-Blogger Tastemaker Tag Sale on One Kings Lane. The sale goes live tonight at 6 p.m. PT/ 9 p.m. ET. I thought it would be fun to post a little sneak peak of the items being offered from my personal collection. One of my favorite pieces is this Antique giltwood mirror -- when paired with a graphic wallpaper and punch of color results is a space that is the perfect balance between contemporary and sophisticated...

There is also somewhat of a celebrity pillow thrown in to the mix too! This sophisticated pillow was custom made (using one of my favorite Schumacher fabrics!) for Michael Del Piero's room in the 2011 Dream Home at the Chicago Merchandise Mart.

You can also buy almost every element from my home bar, which I posted a couple weeks ago. My absolute FAVORITE piece is this vintage cerulean blue casket box. It would add the perfect brilliant pop of color to any room and is the perfect size for storing calling cards.

 My collection is rounded out with playful and whimsical accessories and a few small furniture pieces. The other ladies included will surely have some incredible selections to offer as part of this exciting sale! 

sensational shimmer

Yes, the glitz and glamour of the oscars has come and gone but there is no reason not to add a little shimmer to your life all the other days of the year. Soft metallics, much like drinking champagne, will never go out of style and will always be luxurious--although some applications may be more over the top than others (like this platinum leaf tile!).

Zebra stripes have been a home decor trend for a while now, patricullarly zebra hide rugs. Although, I have to admit that I am not a fan of zebra under foot but I do love the bold, graphic and sophisticated impact that it makes on the wall...

bewitching jewels

Just like the precious gems for which these hues are named, jewel tones are full of bewitching beauty and exude luxury. When they are layered upon each other the look is nothing short of sensational.

And I think I will continue to profess my adoration for gold flecked cork, especially when paired it is with bold "emerald city" greens...

I really can't begin to tell you all how utterly obsessed I am with this wall covering from Stark -- it has a cork like texture and is covered with the perfect hints of metallic. The day I brought samples home I could not help but tape them up on my wall and daydream that they covered all my walls.

Books are one of my favorite inexpensive accessories. Pretty little stacks of them add a cozy lived in look to any room and the choice of titles adds immense personality. Whether in a traditional location...

fresh breath of black + white

I have to be honest--I typically avoid indulging in the eye candy of fall RTW collections before spring arrives--I am simply just not ready to be enticed by clothing suited for cool weather when warm spring breezes are on my mind.  But how I could resist when the runways were constantly being graced with a fresh take of black and white? Divine!

event inspiration {spring fling}

I got home from work today and was actually able to take the dogs for a little jaunt before the sun went down! It was delightful to have the additional hour of sunlight and be reminded that spring was approaching. It put me in the mood for fresh playful colors...

This Sunday has gone by very quickly! After 14 fun filled hours of measuring, cataloging and photographing items for an upcoming One Kings Lane Bloggers Tastemaker sale I have finally found a moment to relax and make a little evening visit to my bar (filled with items that may just be included in the sale!)

I am also especially in love with the idea of using a brilliantly colored "casket" box for calling cards!

black beauty

Black is a powerful color -- even tiny touches of it can completely transform a room and add much needed weight and drama. I especially love  the way it stands out when mixed with rich creams, sophisticated metallics and subtle pastels.
